The Fog

I looked outside the window
and smiled -
a cloud of Fog had wrapped the city
in her soft mist.

Suddenly the distant buildings
were just a memory.
What remained seen were only
the closest neighbouring trees.

My heart filled with joy.
Oh, how I love days like this.
The mystery and magic
that awakes with the arrival
of the Fog.

She has always been close to my heart.
I love her slowness.
Her subtle but undeniable presence.

I love how she pulls the focus closer…
Towards ourselves…
As if to invite us to enjoy
the moment of unknowing.

We cannot see the horizon,
but that’s ok.
There is a beauty in that.
There is a beauty in the Unknown.

Sometimes it can feel so scary
to be without a clear vision for the future,
but the presence of Fog teaches us
another way of being in
such a moment.

When you feel like you’re in the Unknown,
slow down… Take a moment…
Go inwards.

And remember the guidance of the Fog.
Remember that there can be a beauty
in not seeing the full view.

With love,
Elina
