Sunday Love Letters
Sunday Love Letters
On Sundays,
I write love letters.
I make myself a warm cup of coffee,
settle into the coziest corner of my couch,
and I think of you, my friend.
Those letters first travel
through my newsletter... and later,
at the end of each month,
I gather them here.
On their little shelf.
The First Draft
“Mom, pick one!”
My son was standing with
an outstretched arm.
The Black Bin Bags
"Mom, mom…
look how we cleaned
our room?"
The Unremarkable Day
There are days when
I look back and think -
what did I actually do today?
The Pink Paper Heart
A mother's day card
was staring at me.
And I wanted to walk past it.
The Reluctant Adventurer
My daughters have been
asking me to take them to
a casting agency.
The Grandmother in a Toy Store
Sometimes I like to
wander into little stores.
Just to browse.
The Bug On Your Coat
The day when silly little lies
are shared between
family and friends.
The Castle On the Third Floor
My daughter and I were
walking downstairs from her
violin lesson this week.
The World Full of Thunder
Sometimes I wonder,
what do I have to show
for myself?
The Pocketful
I think I write stories
because I wish to remember
my life.
The Forgotten Dictaphone
I found my old dictaphone.
The one that I used
back in the day.
The Shifts of Motherhood
Lately I've been thinking
about how quickly children
grow up.
The Waiting Game
There's a part of me
that always wants to know -
when will it happen?
The Beauty of the Ordinary
Today is Mother's Day
here in Latvia.
A day with many layers.
The Nap
My body was begging for sleep
so I laid down for a nap…
But it wasn’t for long.
